Our mission is to promote choice and improve understanding of the options in relation to breast reconstruction. We seek to provide a range of resources of the highest quality and reliability to assist women to make sound and informed decisions about their surgical choices and to provide opportunities for women to connect with and support one another.

To achieve this goal we have formed a Medical Advisory Group including Health Professionals who are leaders in this field.
DR POURIA MORADISpecialist Plastic SurgeonDr. Moradi is a consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Breast and Facial surgery.
Dr. Moradi studied medicine at the University of New South Wales as a Sam Cracknell Sport and Academic Scholar. He was awarded Membership at the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2005 as well as Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery. Dr. Moradi works as a Reconstructive Microsurgeon at Prince of Wales, Royal Women’s and Sydney Childrens’ Hospitals. The majority of his procedures and treatments are microsurgical breast reconstruction for breast cancer and Head & Neck microsurgical reconstruction after cancer. |
DR KYLIE SNOOKSpecialist Breast Surgeon Dr Kylie Snook is a Sydney-based breast surgeon. After gaining her specialist qualifications in general surgery in 2006 (FRACS) she spent a further two years in Guildford, United Kingdom gaging further subspeciality training in breast surgery. She has extensive experience in the surgical management of patients with breast cancer and benign breast pathology with a special interest in breast reconstruction procedures and optimising cosmetic outcomes. She is a VMO at Northern BreastScreen, North Shore Private Hospital and Hornsby Hospital, as well as Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney.

PROF JOHN BOYAGESRadiation OncologistJohn is a cancer specialist with over 30 years’ experience in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. He is Professor of Breast Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Macquarie University in Sydney and a radiation oncologist at Genesis Cancer Care at Macquarie University Hospital. John also leads the Australian Lymphoedema Education Research and Treatment (ALERT) centre at Macquarie University.
Previously, John was founding director of the Westmead Breast Cancer Institute. He has published over 140 research and clinical articles and is the author of the “Taking Control” series of books on breast cancer (www.bcpublish.com) and has undertaken research on integrating radiation therapy and reconstruction. |
DR RITA POONOncoplastic Breast SurgeonFounding member of Breast Surgeons of Australia and New Zealand (Breastsurg ANZ). Dr Rita Poon completed her medical degree in 1999 at the University of Sydney.
SubsequentlyDr Poon undertook her surgical training in Gosford and Newcastle and furthered her surgical training as a surgical oncology fellow at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney with special interests in the management of breast cancer, thyroid cancer, melanoma and sarcoma. |
DR FRED CLARKESpecialist Plastic SurgeonDr Clarke is a Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgeon with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr Clarke studied at the University of Sydney, graduating from a Bachelor of Science with Honours and completing his Medical training in 2000 before working at multiple hospitals across the state as a surgeon. His commitment to serving his community led him to volunteer to work at various rural hospitals and as a result he has developed a very broad surgical experience. |
